      <image:title>Our Work - BIM Model for Conduit Coordination</image:title>
      <image:caption>During a project that had us check slab flatness, we were given the opportunity to build a BIM model for conduit coordination. The raised floor that was to be installed had limited height between the slab and bottom of the floor tiles. Hundreds of conduits and thousands of network cables were to pass in the void under the raised floor. The conduits did not have enough space to cross and needed to be laid out to accommodate the floor pedestals. Here is where BIM comes to the rescue.</image:caption>
    </image:image>
    <image:image>
      <image:loc>https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/5b855bfff407b487aca71b78/1536758785204-OM97B5F4C3PQSPA7L9TO/cr4.png</image:loc>
      <image:title>Our Work - BIM Model</image:title>
      <image:caption>We continued our conduit runs from the electrical room to pass down a wall and under the floor to be distributed to the many work stations in the space. Network cables and conduits were all color coded to allow the electrical contractor to identify them easily on the prints.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Our Work - Revit Model</image:title>
      <image:caption>Using Autodesk Revit, all of the conduits were modeled and tested for collisions before being sent to the electrical contractor in hard copy form.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Our Work - Physical Design</image:title>
      <image:caption>This photo is of the same wall shown in the model. Junction boxes were added in the field as wiring pull points. The general contractor has become a believer in BIM and laser scanning over the course of this project. Countless hours have been saved by avoiding trade collisions in the field.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Our Work - Point Cloud</image:title>
      <image:caption>It's a great feeling to love your work. Technology has a way of doing that for me. I was recently given the opportunity to use the Faro Focus 70M to check out the floor flatness / floor levelness (FFFL) of a space where a raised floor is to be installed. By linking the acquired point cloud into Revit with PointSense, an extremely accurate report can be generated with detailed graphics to show elevations, alignment, quantities and renders. The GC over the project had concerns over some obvious slab irregularities and whether the pedestals had enough adjustment to compensate for the depressions. Using Recap, a quick color gradient shows the areas of concern in green and red.</image:caption>
    </image:image>
    <image:image>
      <image:loc>https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/5b855bfff407b487aca71b78/1536759534686-MVQ1OH5ZIRQPLD6IIO4U/r2.png</image:loc>
      <image:title>Our Work - Revit / Point Sense</image:title>
      <image:caption>Once the point cloud (PC) is brought into Revit, PointSense has its own set of tools for displaying the FFFL data. The capabilities are expanded beyond just a color gradient map of the slab. By using Revit model lines and PointSense construction points, the project jumps into VDC (virtual design and construction) Nirvana.</image:caption>
    </image:image>

      <image:loc>https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/5b855bfff407b487aca71b78/1536759537142-Z7R1QCDUXO22AGVXWE12/r3.png</image:loc>
      <image:title>Our Work - Elevation View of Point Cloud</image:title>
      <image:caption>By changing the view range in Revit, a plan view of floor depressions is easily achieved. Here you can see where the slab is below the cut plane of our view range settings.</image:caption>
    </image:image>
    <image:image>
      <image:loc>https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/5b855bfff407b487aca71b78/1536759537535-RDCHCEGKNWALPK2SJEME/r4.png</image:loc>
      <image:title>Our Work - Floor Grid</image:title>
      <image:caption>The first step of this workflow is to create a floor under the point cloud. I use an elevation view to align the PC to the newly created floor. The second step is to grid out the floor with Model Lines using a Top View from a 3D View of the model. Be sure to come to an agreement with all involved parties as to where the floor grid lies. Reference points such as drop in anchors can be established before scanning and used for coordinates and field measurement base points.</image:caption>
    </image:image>
    <image:image>
      <image:loc>https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/5b855bfff407b487aca71b78/1536759539246-F6JFKHKE1OD5Y4WC14N2/r5.png</image:loc>
      <image:title>Our Work - PointSense Construction</image:title>
      <image:caption>The third step is adding PointSense Construction Points at the intersections of the Model Line grid. This allows snapping both coordinate and elevation tags in the 3D view. To make the information useful, it must be organized onto sheets. Depending upon how many areas of concern there are in the floor, this can be quick or time consuming. Since the majority of the floor I worked with is within the range of pedestal adjustment, my report is fairly short.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Our Work - Faro Scan Image</image:title>

      <image:title>Our Work - Conduit under floor</image:title>

      <image:title>Our Work - High Density Electrical Room Scan</image:title>
      <image:caption>We recently helped coordinate a high density electrical room. The room was to house multiple panels, disconnects and transformers and have hundreds of conduits originating from and passing through the space. The one-line schematics provided by the electrical engineers did little to space plan. They gave the electricians a directive as to circuit routes and wire sizes. We scanned the room and developed a model of the space.</image:caption>
    </image:image>
    <image:image>
      <image:loc>https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/5b855bfff407b487aca71b78/1536760165351-A2IN5LIEXKGP0TQBD5YL/t2.png</image:loc>
      <image:title>Our Work - 3D Model of Designed Room</image:title>
      <image:caption>The room would not have been able to pass an electrical inspection due to clearances need between equipment and the allowed space the room provided. We suggested that a platform be built to accommodate three large transformers. The customer agreed and asked us to design one suitable to support the load. Using the data gathered from the laser scans, we modeled the room, equipment and platform to give the customer a visual of what the room would look like when finished.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Our Work - Lift System Design</image:title>
      <image:caption>Our design allowed for the lifting of the transformers through a steel grate support. There were going to be too many conduits overhead to allow the transformer to be drifted into place. This movable grate allowed the transformer to be lifted and set with ease.</image:caption>
